The best scrambled eggs recipe in 5 min
Jump to Recipe

This scrambled eggs recipe is the simplest and tastiest egg recipe, and I love to make it for my family. My children are not big fans of spices or veggies in their eggs. So, this recipe is a guaranteed hit. I also think that this is a good introduction to cooking, should one want to learn how to cook. I can’t wait to teach my boys how to make scrambled eggs, so they know how to at least make eggs for a great in-bed mother’s-day breakfast  . I believe that cooking is a life skill that ought to be taught to boys and girls for so many different reasons. (That discussion is for another post.)

Back to our best scrambled eggs recipe.

Surprisingly, you don’t need many ingredients to make the perfect scrambled eggs. What you need when learning how to cook your eggs is knowing the right way to do it. Yes, there is a right and wrong way to cook eggs.

How to cook eggs?

First, you have to make sure that you are on medium heat. It is better to start with medium heat and turn it up should you need to; that way you have less chance of overcooking the eggs. The following statement is valid for any egg recipe. Your eggs should stay yellow! If they turn brown, they are OVERCOOKED!  Whether you use chicken, duck, quail eggs etc…a bright yellow color is the goal. When the eggs turn brown, you are burning nutrients from them.

How to make the best scrambled eggs?

You will be happy to know that for this recipe all you need are eggs, butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. 5 ingredients to brighten your morning.

cracked eggs in white bowl

I personally prefer to crack my eggs in a bowl and to mix them lightly with a fork. You can crack your eggs in the pan while cooking them, but then you won’t find them as fluffy. While I whisk my eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper, I add a nugget of cold butter that will melt with the heat while the eggs are cooking. The butter is the secret ingredient.

I have tried to cook without the butter, and I don’t get the fluffiness and brightness from the eggs. In my non-stick pan, I put a dash of oil with a nugget of butter. I let the butter melt before adding my eggs.

Once, the eggs are in the pan, I let the edges cook first before I start scrambling the eggs.

If you feel that there is too much heat, feel free to turn down the heat. I turn off the heat when my eggs are still a little gooey.

The heat in the eggs will continue to cook the eggs after you take the pan off the stove. The difference is staggering. Trust me on this.

How nutritious are eggs?

Eggs are very nutritious. They are denser in proteins than most food. They can also help your eyes, brain, and muscles, to name a few. They satisfy your hunger and help with portion control. You tend to eat less at lunch when you have eggs in the morning.

I’ve never even thought of adding butter to my scrambled eggs. I’m excited to see if it improves the color and fluffiness.
