Description
Slow cooker beef short ribs cook low and steady until the meat pulls from the bone with ease. Soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, and honey form a rich savory sauce during the long cooking time.
Ingredients
2 kilograms beef short ribs
1 red onion, chopped
2 large carrots, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 bay leaf
2 sprigs fresh thyme
1 half cup soy sauce
1 half cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 half cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 half cup fresh cilantro, chopped
Salt to taste
Instructions

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Brown the short ribs for two to three minutes on each side.

Place the chopped onion, carrots, and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.

In a bowl mix beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, and honey. Stir until smooth.

Place the ribs over the vegetables in the slow cooker. Pour the sauce over the meat.

Add the bay leaf and thyme. Cook on low heat for seven to eight hours until the meat pulls from the bone.

Sprinkle chopped parsley and cilantro over the ribs before serving.
Notes
*Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or buttered noodles so the sauce soaks into the side dish.
